Eight Wastes Survivors (八荒幸存者) is a single-player survival action game inspired by Chinese mythology. Choose Xingtian, Houyi or Jiuwei, move through enemy crowds and let your weapons attack automatically. Pick weapons and items as you level up, build your own combination and face the bosses. The V2 browser demo is available now.

How to play

  1. Choose your start

    Pick Xingtian, Houyi or Jiuwei, then select a starting weapon.

  2. Move and level up

    Dodge enemies while your weapons attack automatically. Gain experience and choose a weapon or item when you level up.

  3. Face the bosses

    Combine character traits, weapons and items to complete challenges. Explore talents, tasks and the collection between runs.

What to expect

Myth-inspired characters

Xingtian, Houyi and Jiuwei offer different starting traits, with melee, ranged and elemental directions to explore.

Build as you play

Weapon and item choices shape each run. Level-up choices pause the action, giving you time to think.

A developing V2 demo

Try the wilds, boss battles and progression between runs. The game is still being developed, so gameplay and balance may change.

Controls

Desktop

Move with WASD or the arrow keys. Weapons attack automatically. Use the mouse to choose characters, weapons and upgrade cards.

Phone / tablet

Drag the virtual joystick to move. Tap buttons and upgrade cards to make your choices.

Before you play

Do I need a download or account?
The browser demo needs no client installation or account. Open the page and let the game assets load.
Can I play in English?
Yes. Use the language button on the game home screen to switch between English and Chinese. This introduction is also available in both languages.
Where is progress saved?
Progress is saved in the current browser’s site data, with no cross-device cloud sync. Clearing site data, changing browsers or switching demo sites will not automatically preserve your progress.
Is this the full release?
This is the V2 demo, still in development. This page describes the browser version and does not imply a release on other platforms.
Do I aim and attack manually?
Weapons attack automatically. You control movement and choose weapons and items as you level up.
